Trying to use EKAT to collect some info on repair parts. However I get no parts diagrams, schematics, images or any kind of visual representation whatsoever.

So my question is: should I?

I have been able to gather the info that I need (sort of) by going to the specific tool. Then downloading the relevant parts diagram. Looking up the part # from within that diagram. Then going to the EKAT page to find the price.

Somehow I don't think this was the plan with the EKAT system from what posts I have read.

[edit] Yes, java, flash, and to the best of my knowledge all the other visual goodies are enabled in my browser.

Yes, you should get diagrams, etc. The eKat uses Java for the diagrams. Make sure you have Java installed and enabled on your computer. It can be downloaded at http://www.java.com/en/.

Apparently I don't have the lag(Latest And Greatest) version. This will be one of the rare 15 minute periods where I hate Linux :)

[thanks]Shane!

Life is better now [laughing]

Maybe a whiznit could be added to the EKAT page to test/prompt for the appropriate java version?
Just a thought [poke]

as an aside, is there an EASY (easier than unpacking my truck to look for the serial#/model#) way for me to know which CT33 I have?

There's probably little difference between the two models listed. I think you'll be safe to review the parts diagram for either. Sometimes Germany changes the internal part number for the simplest of things, such as a change of part supplier or a change in the packaging.

As for a prompt about Java version, the eKat is maintained by Germany. I can pass the feedback along.

Besides ekat.festool.com there is ekat.festool.de for 230V/50hz and NAINA stuff. But it is in German and my German is a bit rusty  [embarassed] Is there a European EKAT available in English (or Dutch)?

Pyotr,

If you go to www.festool.nl and then click on 'Service & Info' and then 'Onderdelentekeningen', you'll go to the Dutch version of the Ekat. Which is the same as the url Shane provided.
