I mainly build custom cabinets, but occasionaly I do other things as part of a cabinet package. One of the things i do at times is wrap existing structural beams with a finished wood wrap, typically in a basement. Most of the time the beams are longer than what my lumber is so I have to splice them.I normally use a router with a finger joint bit to make the splice.Since I just bought a Domino cutter for odds and ends,I thought maybe that would be something I could use it for.The Domino's would be alot easier (I think),but just wanted to make sure it would make a good strong joint.
