I received a new order of paper today and none of it fit other that still being 5 inch. I called my supplier and was told that Festool had changed the pad configuration and hole spacing. Since the old style paper is not stocked anywhere i will have to buy a new pad. Did anyone else hear about this or was I on one of my far away islands at the time. Granted I use the rotex for most of my work but the small sander does come in handy on work away from the shop. Well guys that my vent for the week....be good

They changed pads over a year ago. The new pad improves dust collection, really. I found out the hard way when my old pad wore out from abuse. I still had a large stock of abrasives and the old style pad was no longer available. Bad situation to be in. What did Festool do about it? They exchanged all my old abrasives for new stuff, I just had to buy a new style pad.

How does one know if they have the old or new pad?

The dust extraction holes on the old pad are about midway between the center and the perimeter. The new pad has the holes closer to the perimeter like the Rotex 125. (All 125mm diameter abrasives are now the same)

Ahh, like this :)
