ES 125 vs ETS 125

Hey everyone,
I searched around for any comments on this and I found none..

I have an ES 125 and I was reading FAQ section on the ETS 125 where Festool says:

On the ETS125, the rubber pad brake now has holes around the periphery. This prevents vacuum lock when connected to a vacuum, which allows for better pad rotation, making the sander easier to move across the work piece. This will also results in fewer swirl marks. Some have felt that these new sanders are not as aggressive as the older models. What you are actually noticing is improved performance and less vibration due to the improvements.

I would like to know if anyone has any experience with both sanders and if the ETS 125 is better than the ES 125. I have experienced issues with skipping around as well as the vacuum sticking problem too.

Thanks in advance

I have noticed that the ETS has less vibration than the ES. I haven't looked closely at swirl marks, so I can't comment there.

Hi Chris,

There were some small but notable improvements made when Festool changed from the ES  series to the ETS series (already done years ago on the 150 sanders). I have not done a side by side, but the ETS models are a tad smoother, but the "sticking" issue can still occur on the 125's moreso than the 150's due to a smaller pad size. Usually adjusting the sander's speed and/or the amount of suction takes care of the problem.
