To prevent the OBG from gumming up, I use a coffee cup warmer to keep the glue dish heated. The (microwave-heated) rice bag also keeps the hot bath of water longer.

OBG has the same functions as the hide glue, but in a ready-to-use bottle form. Putting it in the refrigerator (not freezer) will extend its life (by one more year beyond the shelf life (18 months) marked on the bottle according to my experience). Long working time - 20 mins to 30 mins, but also long clamping/curing time (12/24 hours for me). I use it for complex glue-ups (long open time) or glue-ups that I could undo if the assembly goes awry (insurance for complicated joinery projects).

Thank you for the info on OBG.  In my area I often have to use the AC in my shop during the winter and have been looking for a longer working time glue for more complex projects.  I think I'll try some pf this.

OBG was a life-saver again for me in the latest project.

A few hours after assembly, I realized that the clamping had caused a new issue that was not detected in previous dry-fitting attempts. The only way to fix it was to disassemble the glue-up. And I did -- thanks to using the liquid hide glue.

If PVA glue had been used, the build would have been written off. Phew!
