So I was trying out my new ETS 150/3 tonight and really like it, plus with the CT 26 virtually no dust.  But I have a question, I tried to switch to the hard pad.  I understand you need to use the Allen wrench that is included, but the pad just keeps turning, how do I lock the pad so I can undo the center screw/bolt?

Hold the pad with one hand ! ... also notice the length of the wrench (short) ... doesn't need a lot of torque.

I actually never saw any explanations in an ETS manual anywhere, so I understand being cautious.

Thanks, I will try what you suggested.  Also you are right, it isn't in the manual.

Yep -- just grip it and turn.  The first time you loosen the bolt it might be a little tight.  Each pad comes with a bolt and washer so be careful not to lose that when you open the package.

Also when you put the pad back on, make sure it aligns  in the keyed spindle. It can be a bit off and the screw will still go in.  After you retighten turn it on and  look at the the edge of the pad. If it is not on correctly the wobble  will be noticable. It will not be running flat / perpendicular to the spindle.  It isn't hard or tricky just need to get it fully seated and without a spindle lock the darn thing wants to keep spinning as you place the pad on it.
