ETS/EC versus 3M Xtract Sander (not paper)

So, in reference to OP’s point, are there more opinions on the sanders? Personal knowledge?

One is my favoritest sander. The other was straight-up stolen from Mirka. Please don't forget to hit like and subscribe!

Apparently, the 3M sanders have seen more than expected failures. This video eventually covers what's going on:

1) If you don't use a dust extractor, there's not enough air flow and the sander can overheat by 100º (!)
2) The heat sink can build up a static charge, shocking the operator.

There are fixes in new versions of the 3M sanders being made now. Stock at retailers may be old, though.

Glad I got an ETS/EC

He also did the ETS EC 150/5 which is great, same tests but was significantly better than the 3M one.

So... if you do something that you are not supposed to do, something happens that isn't supposed to happen. Who would have guessed  [big grin]
