I have had a MAJOR breakthrough.

We're currently redecorating the entire house in preparation for selling. Last night I put some drywall filler on bits that needed tidied up in a kids room. I brought in my ctl26 and ets150 and set it up so my wife could use it today.
At work I get a text,
Wife "WOW"
Me "what?"
Wife "sander"
Me "you taking the P?
Wife "no it's amazing it's just so fast and there's no dust"
Me "congratulations you're eyes have been opened you were blind and now you see!"

So I thought I'd share that so that if any of you guys need a strategy to get the other half onside try get her to use them.

It's her birthday on valentines day, I'm thinking the new ets or maybe a CXS  [big grin]

A wife that sands and appreciates Festool.  You my friend hit the jackpot 23 years ago.

My wife tried the Planex to remove texture from our house but found the DTS 400 much more friendly, even for large wall expanses. She like it so much that she put in hours with it.

I prefer the Planex for the vast majority of the work and the DTS for the detail.

Congratulations. The same exact  thing happened to me when we bought our house and were fixing it up. i had her hand sanding the walls for about 4 hours and then i gave her the ets125  and ct26. it was magicial, she finally got it. All the little battles  over festool are now a thing of the past. She couldnt understand  the huge price difference between  festool and all other brands. Now shes open minded and gets the system  thing.

I'm in the same boat in the middle of painting the whole house ready to sell. Then we're off to live by the sea :)

She sounds like a real keeper [smile]

As 1 married man to another strike while the irons hot , start ordering. Oh honey we need this for xxxx and this for xxxx with a isn't this nice.

Got to do it quick while she's in the mood.

Same here! My partner (haven't got round to the marriage thing yet, only been with her 17years...) She hates dust... But loves my sander and vacuums. So much so she practically sanded off all the paint I had just put on in one of the rooms of a place I'm renovating! I only asked her to give it a quick sand, now I'm back to bare plaster on the walls & ceiling.  [cool]

Excellent - it is really important to get the "Royal" seal of approval.

About 15 years ago we were redoing the driveway and I was expecting 10 tons of clean gravel. As a joke I bought a second "Never Bend" shovel for my wife and told her it was her birthday present. She genuinely accepted it as such and we spread the gravel together. That evening I gave her the real present - she still cherishes that shovel.

Shovel probably lasted longer!!!!!

Eta: I've tried to get a wink in the post but it's not having it

;-)

My wife is cool with the addiction as long as I can prove that it will make us(her) money!
She comes down to the shop sometimes, to have a little peek, but she's not interested in using the tools. She thinks I'm a complete and utter nerd now that I'm into this festool thing.
She's probably right..... I don't care.
