excess dust from CMS TS 75 tablesaw

I have recently purchased the CMS table with the 75 saw. In using it I notice that despite attaching the dust extraction hose to the saw ( out the front of the saw) and out to my Festool extractor, when in use the saw throws dust out the back ie in the opposite direction of the dust outlet. There is so much volume of dust in fact it seems I have missed installing something. Might this be the case or is this normal?. thankyou to anyone who can assist.

What hose did you use? Because the TS saws need the Y-split hose to have proper dust extraction, just like a normal table saw. See pic below (that's a CS50, couldn't find a pic of the TS75 CMS, but principle is the same).

Btw, I don't get what you say here. How can you attach the hose to the FRONT of the saw, the dust port is on the BACK.

Pics would help.

It's because he's down under!  ;)

I am also trying to picture the problem...could you post a photo?

Welcome to the FOG.

Definitely something wrong here.

Sometimes the TS75 gets clogged up in the blade casing causing reduced extraction but if it's new it's unlikely.

I know that my setup has the TS55R in the CMS unit but as Alex says, you do need the Dust Extraction Set (488292) for almost total dust collection.

From what has been said there is perhaps some other fault (or operator error!).

Many thanks from all who replied and yes I am from downunder where fortunately we see things the right way up!!.

Im not so skilled as to be able to place a photo with my message.

To answer the query re my extraction unit, I have the CTM 36, with a single hose. To clarify its joining position on the TS75, Alex is correct when he says that the hose attachment to the saw is at the back of the TS75.But what I was meaning was that when placed in the CMS the TS75's hose attachment point is facing the front of the CMS table and accessed from the front of the CMS table. Remember the saw is upside down (like me) and the front of the saw faces the back of the CMS being where one stands when using it. So yes I have only the one hose attachment which is not doing the job.

Alex, you mention a splitter. But the saw itself only has a single hole on which to place a single hose. There is not a second extraction port on the TS75 to use??. Am I missing something?

And plse dont give up on me cos Im a bit slow!

second hose goes to the guard above the eblade

Here is a picture that might help. The grey hoses are part of the Dust Extraction Set. They go to a 'Y' splitter from which a single hose goes to the CT.

I don't get it. The front of the saw should face the front of the CMS and the back should face the back.In other words the hose attachement faces the back and should lead away from the user in the direction of a board being cut. Is it possible you have the module installed the wrong way round or have I misunderstood your upside down world  [smile]. The split hose makes a difference but not to the extent you described initially.

Sounds like you installed the TS75 module the wrong way in the CMS ground unit. The back of the saw should face the back of the CMS.

One part of the hose goes to the saw itself under the table. The 2nd part goes to the blade guard on top of the table. Your TS 75 CMS module should have come with a blade guard.

No worries, we won't, we have all the patience in the world.

It sounds like you're using the 27 mm hose that comes standard with all Festool vacs. When you use it with the TS75, it would be best to have the bigger 36 mm hose, because dust extraction works better thanks to the bigger air flow.

The Y-split hose I mentioned has two heads, one of the 27 mm size that goes on top of the CMS table, and one of the 36 mm size that connects to the saw under the table.
