what experience does anyone have with the Woodpeckers (OTT) Parallel Guide?
Am I correct that it is easier to read/calibrate the measurement than on the multi-piece plastic scales on INCRA Trac based parallel guides as used with SENECA PG system.

A search on this thread will reveal some early trouble with them but Woodpeckers handled it. I have them and after small learning curve I've been happy with them. For me personally I don't use the systainer that comes with it. I keep it partially assembled so I do not have to calibrate once they are set.

thanks for the responses. I realize it was a Woodpeckers OTT but thought perhaps I could find one used if the responses from users are encourageing.
I have the Seneca parallel guides but the INCRA 2-piece track scales are not my idea of an accurate and repeatable means of measuring. I would also feel better if the attachment of the INCRA extrusions to the Seneca adapters were more positive and not possible to be out of full engagement without realizing it until you have a bad cut. If the Seneca knobs had a tapered pin "nose" that would penetrate a through hole in the INCRA extrusion you would be use that it stay put throughout shop handling and not accidentally and unnoticed be locked in in a less than fully engage position.

I recently started using the Woodpecker parallel guide system for a large sys port I am building. I have been working slowly and have been cutting up plywood over several nights.

What kind of precision are people getting with this system? I have had some 2 x 4 ft sheets come out dead on parallel while others sheets have been out of parallel by about 1/32 inch. This is a small amount of course, but I have not been able to figure out why I am seeing differences even when I have been very careful to use the same technique.

Assuming the etched on measuring scales are accurate, it must be a calibration issue, or a setting issue. Use something for calibration that forms a 90* cleanly to the long rod. Make sure you are setting both sides to the same point on the scale, meaning both in front of the line, behind the line, or split the line. Is that 1/32" over 48" or 24"?

They have been working well for me since getting the replacement parts.

I have heard lots of good things about them but I do not own them. It might be hard to find a set of them since it was a one time tool. I will say my Festool guides have been amazing thus far and I can definitely say that if you bought them you would not be upset at all. I use them all the time for my track saw and have accurate repeatable cuts all the time.
