Extended sanding pad RO90

Can someone tell me what soft backing pad I need for the extended sanding pad for the RO90 and what is the backing pad #497483 used for? All the triangular sand paper I see fits the shorter normal pad, is there larger triangular sand paper for the extended pad?
I bought the extended sanding pad # 496803 and I see these other accessories and am a little confused as to what to purchase.

The #496803 extended pad for the RO 90 uses the same size triangle sand paper as the regular triangle pad.  I believe the extended pad is designed to have the sand paper attach directly with no backing pad.  I've never tried it but I suppose you could use any backing pad you wanted.

As Brice says, paper goes on directly. The extended head was meant for things like louvers, and so is designed to be as thin as possible.  I imagine putting a backing pad would not be great for sanding, since they have the snaps that are designed to secure it to the normal delta head.

since they provide a backing pad for the short pad I thought it would follow that they would provide one for the long pad.Why would it be provided for one but not the other? I just want to make sure I am using the sander properly.

Ironically enough, the extended head's lack of pad saved me on a recent job. I had burned through my extra stock of backing pads, it was a sunday, and I still had a couple of corners left to finish. Then I suddenly remembered I had the extended head in the systainer, snapped it on, and was able to complete the job so that the stain could be applied first thing Monday morning.
