I use it. It's great for exterior trim.
Mills like MDF, very heavy and like Oldwood says, not structural so it needs a good backer.
Does not deteriorate in water so it is good for cladding exterior columns and stands up to snow and ice. You don't need to prime the cuts as it is water proof throughout. You can use any exterior rated (titbond 3 etc.) glue to bond it.
