I would like to order and additional strap.  Is this possible and, if so, what is the part number?

aside: Before posting this question, I looked at a few Festool and Festool dealer sites and could not find the information.

Frank,

The part number is 10004047 and they are inbound from Germany. I have no information on an ETA but shipments from Germany can take up to 6 weeks. I also don't know a price yet but will edit my post when I have that info.

So we need to wait.  [sad]  It's unfortunate that Festool does not have the related products available at the same time as they release the main product.

What's with that product number?  Aren't all the Festool products given a six digit number?

Looks more like a replacement part than an accessory.  Some of the parts on ekat do have long numbers like that.  This would also explain why its not listed on the main website.

That is a great thing about festool, replacement parts are not hard to get.  Some companies are a pain to get parts for.

Ken, thanks for the explanation.  I would think that two straps would be a common configuration (it certainly will be for me) and, hence, a strap would be an accessory, but I guess Festool doesn't see it that way.

Like Ken suggested, this is considered a spare part, not a catalog item. Just curious, Frank, but what will you use the second strap for?

Looks like the price will be about $50 USD for the strap and two "clamps" for lack of a better word. That'll be about $56 CAN.

As for having to wait, I don't order product from Germany but I think spare parts generally show up a short while after products are introduced.

I will use a second strap when non-systainers are part of the load.  This will include items such as guide rails, levels, sledge hammers, vacs, and non-Festool tools in non-systainer boxes.

As I said in my recent review, it is possible to use bungee cords on loads like this, but I think that a second Festool strap will do a better job.

I'm pretty sure it won't. The Festool strap is made specifically for holding systainers. I think it will have a big problem holding anything that is shaped differently. And you can attach it in only one way, while you can attach a bungee cord in so many ways. [2cents]

I guess that the only way for me to find out is to try it.  I've used a bungee cord to do the job I am talking about and I really do think that the Festool strap will be better.
