Extractor 26 screw size for electric cord

Hi all, just registered to post this because frankly I'm stumped. The CT 26 came with the power cord holder unattached with two screws. They are hex-head, but dang if nothing fits. I've tried metric and imperial allen wrenches but none are just right. I can get the screws in about 1/3 of the way then the smaller wrench that fits starts to spin and is probably stripping things.

Did Festool magically invent a 3.5mm allen wrench or do I just need to back them out and drill out those holes some? Or maybe I just got a Friday end of day build where the holes were drilled incorrectly on the extractor?

Thanks in advnace for any ideas. I've used 4 allen wrench sets so far and am stumped with a loose cord holder.

Not sure what to tell you.  My CT26 (manufactured 6/2017) has 2 phillips head screws.  I don't know if they changed the screw or the screw type depends on where you live.

I just saw an inexpensive hex wrench set from Harbor Freight and indeed they do have not-so-typical sizes such as 3.5mm and 2.5mm.  My Festool CT has Philips screws but I recall they were quite difficult to fully tighten.  Is your CT one of the newer ones with the quick release cord wrap?

Are you sure it's not Torx?  I almost made a mess of the insert plate retaining screws on my Kapex before I figured out they were Torx, then things got much easier.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I wish it was Philips. I was blown away that something like that would be done with a hex head. It's not Torx, though I tried a few torx drivers just in case they might engage. It is the new 2018 model with the smooth hose - honestly, I didn't notice if the cord had a twist handle to quick release. I guess there must be some goofy between sizes then if Harbor Freight has them. I guess I'll take the screws to a local hardware store and just replace with same thread/length but Philips. It's been a frustrating two days dealing with this on/off. Hopefully this too shall pass, looking forward to doing some Rotax 150 work.
