Fancy Miter Joint With Spline

That's a clever idea to use the router table to creat the spline.  Many moons ago (maybe 15 years?), one of the first joinery projects I ever did was to make a pine utensil tray for one of my kitchen drawers, where I did a splined mitre, except I used a table saw to cut the kerf.  I must have been using my old portable ryobi saw, which allowed you to shift the fence to the left of the right tilting blade, which permitted an easy setup for the cut.
