Check out the link.  You'll see a list of all Festool sanders (the one's we can get here ).  Choose your sander.  On the following page, instead of the clunky, ugly mess of every single piece of sandpaper in no particular order that used to show, you now have a master list as well as the opportunity to choose the sandpaper of your choice by selecting the family of paper you're searching for. 

In other words, if you want Rubin paper because you're sanding bare wood with your RO 90, you would....Click the RO 90 image, click the Rubin icon and voila.

Simple, yes I know, but definitely a huge improvement and I hope it makes it easier for all.  It certainly has for me.

Only your description of Granat gives the wrong impression when you say it for "Plastics, Acryllics, Solid Surface, etc ". It really is an all-purpose paper just like Brilliant 2 and is more specifically meant for paint than for plastics and solid surface.

I'm not sure that is entirely correct Sean. First off, the story I heard is that Granat was originally developped by Festool to work with the newest paint systems that are used in the automitive industry. As the new product shaped out it became clear it was so good it could be used for a number of different applications as well.

Second, in Europe Granat is highly recommended for paint. Festool UK for instance says this:

Introducing new Granat abrasives, particularly recommended for solvent based VOC (volatile organic compounds) and hard surface paints. Professionals who require high standards and a high quality efficient abrasives need to look no further. For processing the most modern paint systems, VOC clear coats, plastic materials, mineral materials and acrylics.

Even Bob Marino got this description:

A premium all-round abrasive. For processing the most modern paint systems, VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) clear coats, other paints and clear coats, plastic materials, mineral materials and acrylic. It is highly recommended for VOC-compatible clear coats and extremely hard surfaces.  

Weird thing is, Festool USA says it's for wood:

First, even though the name is "Granat", it is not made for Granite or stone material. It's actually made for use with wood.

Personally, from what I've heard, read, and experienced up till now, I'm not entirely sure this is it's main purpose. Seems to me the description on that promo site doesn't do Granat much justice either.

I've been using Granat for over half a year now and I can attest it works wonders with paint, and about anything else you try it on. In fact, it is becomming harder and harder to get any Brilliant2 around here lately because many dealers here replaced it with Granat.

  I hear ya, but just trying to go with the official line from Fes USA.  As we get more time on it here in the states I'm sure we'll begin to see it as the wonder paper for use on most everything asides from bare wood.

Yes and no, yes in delta, no in round.  

Sean, looks like the RO90 only shows round abrasives.
