The travel tool box is complete. Ready - when the time comes - to be fitted inside a hard case when the time comes to fly to New Zealand. Total weight is 16Kg (40lbs). Dimensions: 540mm long x 280mm deep x 210mm high.
The final part of the build was to add a carry handle. Earlier, I was planning on a shoulder strap ...

... however, this is not practical - 16Kg over a shoulder is not comfortable and difficult to manoeuvre. So I came up with this ...

Dovetailed for strength. The dark wood is Merbau, which is very hard and rigid. I am not sure what the light wood is - an interesting scrap.
It's a good height, and comfortable to hold. The underside is rounded and the top side edges are chamfered ...

The handle rotates and folds out of the way to open the top ...


The feature I am most proud of is that the handle can be lowered and locked in place to prevent the top opening during travel ...
