I'm working on a total kitchen gut job of existing cabinets of a house I bought. Long story short, the house (and therefore the kitchen) is only 11 years old. House had roof damage, therefore water damage to kitchen, was REO/Bank Owned. So I'm tearing out water damage blue board and plaster, trim, insulation, cabinets, etc.
I'm trying to save the countertops (I plan on having the granite pulled by a local granite company), and was wondering if anybody has any advise on tools to remove the bond between the granite and the cabinets. I thought a scrapper blade for my Fein...it does gum up though. Thoughts? I know we have about a 50/50 chance or worse (haha) of savings these...I'd just like to spend the savings (if we have any) on better appliances, etc.
Thanks,
Shaun
