Can someone give me some suggestions on available permanent for semipermanent fence setups for the Kapex?

Sutes :)

While I don't have a Kapex, I have just recently built one using Incra Track and Phenolic Ply.  It works great.

I wanted to buy a Sawhelper, but they don't seem to be interested in selling their product.  It took two weeks to place the order because of lack of response.  Once I placed the order, I was told that I could expect a call in about 6 weeks to get the payment information.  I am about 4 weeks overdue for that call.

sawhelper company has had some issues and is on hold for a few weeks or more and then will be up and running as I have been told.  could be 2 3 3 4 weeks or so I do not know.  check e bay for a used one, but then you need the connectors.....  so you may want to build one.

I see this is your first posting, so welcome to the Festool Owners Group!

There are different fence solutions for the Kapex, depending where you are based. For instance, in the UK and Europe the Kapex can be purchased as a set which includes a special MFT and table extension "wings" which have with integrated measurement scales and additional stop flags to make repeat cuts easy:

This set is not available in the USA yet, and most people build their own or use a third-party fence like the Sawhelper.

See page 11 of the Kapex UK brochure for details of the official Festool fence system available there.

If you could put your location in the location and/or personal text fields of your profile then other members will be able to use that information when answering any queries you may have. Quite often items are available in Australia or the UK, but are not available in the USA, and so on.

I've got the Festool fences - two on the left and one on the right of the saw.  They are fine but when I get round to it I'd like something more permanent - if I knock them they move too easily.  My old SCMS was on a purpose built bench with a Kreg guide which I thought was very good and not too expensive (I bought it in England - probably a lot cheaper in the US)

I know folks have been juggling around ideas on what to do for fence/extensions on their $1300 saw. Unfortunately, what is available for purchase here in the states is total garbage. IMO folks are best off building their own. Here is another idea for those still not sure what to do. My extensions are 1930mm in length allowing me to store them within the MFT for transport. 3/4" ply construction all the way around keeping it very light and strong. It is simply attached to the Kapex stand using a common 5/16" T-bolt.

Wow. I have to say that Eiji and Jeff are ahead of me. Snow is keeping me from the shop at the moment but I am using the Kreg fences with 4ft of each side and an MFT3for the support. I have made the fences so that they can be positioned anywhere and clamped. Is this a waste of the tables? No - I am setting up the shop as "stations" so that they can have other functions i.e. Kreg pocket hole, Domino making, longer cross cutting and veneer tape edging. All this coming soon.

The fence extensions that I made are here -http://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=4923.0

I have since changed the angle braces that went to the MFT/Kapex legs to wooden adjustable legs that go to the ground and fold up and latch under the fences - so that I can easily move these fences to my MFT/3 for cutting long material.  By using the crown extensions, moving them is a very quick process and they align every time.

I've also added a tape measure to the top of the fence for repetitive cutoffs.
