Hi All,

I'm considering buying an RO 125 or 150 FEQ.  Is there an updated model being released - called the "RO 150 FEQ PLUS"?  A google of the term shows that it is available in Australia and the UK.  If so, I wonder when will it be available in the US?  Does anyone know about this?  What are the changes?

I'm thinking about the RO 125 because I want to sand the siding on my house (and interior doorframes), and will being doing a lot of vertical work - thus the weight factor (though I'm tempted to buy the 150 for speed, and own the "top dog".)  Do I wait for a new model?  When is the 125 PLUS coming, I must wonder?? ???

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff, the RO 150 I purchased in June 2007 shows "RO 150 FEQ-PLUS USA" on the external label so I assume sander (at least the label!) is available now to answer one of your questions.  Sorry -- I don't know differences in this from earlier models.

Jeff, sorry, just noticed this is your first post and although new here myself -- welcome to the FOG!

Take a look at this thread which references a McFeely's page which shows differences in RO 150E and RO 150 FEQ.  Hope this is what you were looking for.

Jeff,
The individual parts of the Festool product codes have a specific meaning.
In the UK for example the TS55 EBQ Plus FS GB saw breaks down as follows;
TS = Plunge Saw
55 = Depth of cut (in mm)
E = Electronics (variable speed plus soft start)
B = Brake
Q = Plug it removable mains cable system
Plus = Comes in a Systainer case
FS = Comes with a Guide Rail
GB = GB spec with UK 3 pin plug

I would assume the same applies in the States so a RO 150 FEQ-PLUS would be
RO - Rotary and Orbital motion (Rotex)
150 - 150mm diameter sanding disc
F = Think this is the Fast fix removable sanding pad system
EQ = Electronics (variable speed plus soft start) and Plug it mains cable
Plus = Comes in a Systainer case

Hope this helps - Martin.

Yes, that helps!

Thanks for the replies, all.  It was kind of a strange "confluence" of events that led to my question, but that all makes sense.

Thank you,

Jeff
