Building a new Bench/Sysport that uses my 1080 table.  I have wanted to do this for a long time after seeing some of the nice versions on this forum.

I am incorporating a router table and Moxon vise on front.

The Moxon hardware is Benchcrafted with Maple jaws that I built. The vise is supported by the rolling table but attaches to the front of 1080 table with a couple T-bolts and countersunk nuts and can be removed and stored in the back of table.  Using Footmaster casters with crank down rubber feet.

Hope to have it trimmed out, narrow drawers built for right side and finished by next weekend.

Rich,
Looking good!  Need more pics.  How can I copy this without more and more closeups. ;D

LOL, Hi Rusty.

I am not far from having it finished so will get plenty of pictures when I am done.  I also have it in Sketchup too.

Here is the drawing rendition.

That's great.  How did you mount your Moxon?  Mine is presently just clamped to the top

T bolts into the extrusion on the table. It really doesn't take much as the bench below is supporting mine as my vise is same height as the table.

I saw that and wondered what it would be like without that support???

I am not sure. I will try to block up the table on some chunks of wood and see. But I suspect its more a twist thing than anything else.

Rich,
I can see that rolling around in my shop right now!  I've been wanting a Moxon vise for a long time just haven't made the plunge.  Sure could have used one on my latest project because it had three draws all with handcut dovetails.  Don't know if you are a handcut dovetail kind of guy but if you are check out David Barron's site of the UK.  He makes a lot of goodies for dovetailing and let me say his guides are fantastic.  Keep up the good work and looking forward to more pics.

Rusty I am a power tool kind of guy but hope this vise takes me into a few new things I have not done before.  I ordered a set of Robert Sorby chisels so have plans to do something that doesn't require a cord!

The drawers on this are just birch plywood and no nice dovetails. This was supposed to be a week build in my spare time but looks like its going to be closer to 2 weeks. Maybe less.

I am already using the Moxon vise on the 1080 as  trim this thing out and its working great.

Hey Rusty.

I finished it this weekend. Going to do a short walk around video on it and should have it up mid week.

Looking good Rich.  Looking forward to the video and maybe some dimensions!

Rich, that's a sweet setup.  I could see adding in an Incra fence for the router, rigged so it uses QWAS dogs or the like to position the fence on the MFT when needed, yet be able to lift off easily when not needed.

Thank you.  I have not thought much about my router fence yet. Its on my to-do list though.

I really like it. The unit went into use as soon as I started building the drawers. Been getting a workout since.

I must say that looking at your concept has given me some ideas for future toys my own shop.  BTW, is the top of your setup 900mm AFF?

Also looking forward to seeing what kind of dust collection for the router part.

Rusty

The work surface height is 35".

The casters are Footmaster. They have ratchets built that crank down large rubber pads.

I really don't have any special plans for dust collection. Just a hose connection for my CT on the fence. All the clippings from the router drop down a chute to a box (what looks like bottom drawer).
