Festool 452877 hose

Hey did any of you guys see Festool 452877 at Amazon for $80.00? It is a hose billed for the Festool shop vacs that also fits the Festool power tools with rotating fittings at either end. I just wanted something that would definitely fit up to the Festool power tools. I don't even know if $80.00 is a good price for a hose like this. I know it is not an anti-static hose and I suspect the ad budget is absorbed by all the zillion $$ anti static hoses.

My Amazon Prime Trial period was winding down and so I said what the heck ....give it a try. Seems to be what I expected it to be. Its 3.5m long, long enough to get you around things..... Amazing how quick you run out of hose length. It is very very well build for nothing more than a hose....like anything Festool I think. Am I missing something or do these just sit forlornly in the back of the warehouse waiting for somebody to finally order one?

That is the standard 27mm non-antistatic hose.  $80 is the correct price no matter where you buy. 

If you need improved suction in the future check out the range of 36mm hoses.

Take a look at this hose on Amazon.  I've got 2.  Got a 36mm end for 1 so that I can switch ends depending on which end I need.  The other one I cut up and made 2 smaller hoses.  Put a 36mm end on the shorter hose for use as a short Kapex hose.

So that is really the right answer then it is just the dif between the anti-static hoses and this guy. Thats' fine I really only wanted to make sure I could get out of the tools, and had a decent length run to get around things with a handheld tool. I was not really looking for a hose but whenever I was just cruising around looking for Festool accessories the hoses that would appear closest to the top of searches were the anti-statics. Not sure they provide much benefit for a small shop where the tool attached to it is running for a couple of minutes then off for a time and then run again for a couple of minutes.  If my Amazon Prime Trial period had not been ending I probably would never have seen it and would likely have just used one of my other hoses. I suspected this one would be built better and that is really want I was after.....something that would fit my Festools perfectly and had rotating end fittings and this one does. It is just amazing to me how well designed and built it is even though it is just a hose!

The Bosch hose is a perfect fit for festool.  It's a 36mm hose with a 27mm tool fitting on the end.  This enables me to have 1 hose on the van with both ends (36mm and 27mm) so I can switch between the 2 ends depending on what I'm doing.

Will likely get a 36mm at some point. They are not that much more money as long as you stay anti-static

Actually Greg you jogged my memory banks. The pictures that Amazon has of Bosch 36mm hose fittings don't match what is actually on the Bosch hose. As you correctly point out, the fitting is the same as the fitting on the Festool hose.....even when shipped form Amazon apparently. I actually had not figured out that the photos at Amazon were wrong until I had dug around for more info. By then I already had the Festool on order.

Send the Festool hose back and get the Bosch.  No reason to get the anti-static Festool hose.  We pay enough Festool Tax so when we don't have too we shouldn't.  Plus if you get a Festool 36mm end for $25 and the Bosch hose you'll still end up less than the Festool hose.  That will give you the equivalent of a 16' 36mm hose and a 16' 27mm hose.  The advantage is that the Bosch, when used with the 27mm end, will give you more volume of air then the Festool 27mm hose because it's a larger hose.  The larger hose will have less resistance then the Festool 27mm hose even though the ends have the same opening. 

It's easy to change the ends.
