Hi,

Does the Braided Sleeve Antistatic Hose, 36mm X 3.5m include the old or new style tool end connector.  The picture shows the old style, but I wanted to confirm that before ordering.  Or should I order the old style hose to get the old style too end connector?

Also, I assume the other end will fit my CT22.

Thanks.

All the new style hoses have the new connector on the end as far as I have heard/seen.

I will let you know next week after I get mine. Ordered from Toolnut and it will be here Friday. We leave Friday morning for a camping trip.

The tool end fitting on the 36mm hoses is unchanged as far as I know.  The interior dimension attaching to the hose has to be wider to accomodate the sleeved hose, but the part that connects to the tool should be the same.  All the controversy about the updated fittings is with respect to the 27mm hoses.

And yes, they will all fit the CT22.

Thanks!  I will go ahead on order it then.

One more question, what is the difference between Festool 452882 and 500681 36mm hoses?  The names are:

Festool 452882 Antistatic Hose, 36mm x 3.5m
Festool 500681 Smooth Suction Hose D36x3.5m-AS/CT

Thanks

Festool 452882 is the older ribbed style of hose.  Festool 500681 is the newest version of the hose that is smooth.  This improves handling of the hose (less likely to catch and snag on things) and there is also increased suction.

I just opened up my new Tradesman kit which has the larger braided hose.  The exterior of the hose tool connector end is smooth but the interior has the indents and other stuff for the new connections.

Peter,

I was wondering if you thought with the increase in flexibility from the new design, if your cleaning kit could hold the 5.0m rather than the standard 3.5m?  I know with the old style, it was all one could do to get the 3.5m hose in the systainer.  It would be nice if the longer 5.0m hose would fit.

There is extra space in the SYS 5 for the new version of the Tradesman kit.  I have the turbo brush in the box also.  I have no idea if the 50 mm would fit because I don't have a 50 to try.

Sorry.

Hi Peter,

Sorry for the confusion, but I was talking about hose length.  Specifically, if you think the slightly longer 5.0 hose would fit into the kit that normally comes with the 3.5.  I was hoping that with the added flexibility of the newer style hose, I might be able to squeeze the longer hose into the systainer.  I have the same (but older version) of your cleaning kit, and have already sold off my old style hose and would like to replace it with the newer style (with the slightly longer version if possible).
