I need a longer hose for my ct26, can this hose fit into any of the sustainers? I like the fact that the cord is much longer for working, without needing to move vac. Is it worth it?

thank you

The hose is totally worth it to me.  Having 33 feet hose offers plenty of freedom to move about when working on large projects.  It works real well around stairs and ladders, too.

The downside is it doesn't store/transport very well in the Festool system.  It is chore making it fit in the sys-maxi and I'm inclined not do so and just wrap a velcro strap around the hose and call it good.

Before I purchased my boom arm, I toyed with the sleeved hose (shorter version).  I purchased some white plastic drain supports (for that corrugated plastic black drain line), from Home Depot, with holes in the arm portion of the hook, to nail them at whatever drop length you wanted from the joists.  Then I hung the sleeved hose from those supports.    However, without the boom arm (and it's hose and cord extensions), the hose became too short to serve the purpose I wanted.  Once on the boom arm, the shorter sleeved hose was perfect for my use (but I just move my CT26 to the particular workbench I am using).

I briefly considered passing on the boom arm and just get the longer sleeved hose, but as I thought about it, I really did not want all that length hanging from my shop ceiling.  Of course, you could just let it drag on the floor, but that creates problems of it's own (tripping).

As for the concept of being worth it, I would say yes if you can work out the location problems.  I would not want it on the floor full time, as that sleeve is a light color, and would start looking pretty dirty fast.  I also think you need to consider the fact it will prevent you from moving other things around, without needing to lift the hose out of the way.

Also remember it is a tapered hose, ending at 22mm on the tool end, so basically it is a sander hose, and tools that discharge larger chips won't like it.  My solution is to have the larger 36mm hose on standby, for other tools.  I simply hang it on the boom arm with my shorter sleeved sander hose, and can use either when needed.

Mine is permanently on one of our in shop 26's with boom arm.  It is used with the sanders, 1400 router and the track saw from time to time.  Never leaves the shop.  But in the shop it is used to work all around one of our 4'x8' assembly and work benches.  Yes, for us it is totally worth it.  Had it coming up on one year now.  No regrets.

thank you to all, yes i need the longer hose for sanding stairs and it will help with other projects. i will try it out thank you for the help
