[welcome] to the FOG!

I understand Festool has already been receiving rebate forms. Has anyone received a rebate cheque back yet? Just curious as to how long it will take. Canada has a price increase looming, and I'm curious if a cheque would be received in time to invest in some green stuff before Jan 1. I'm assuming the holidays and peoples Christmas leave at Festool, rightfully so, will play into it as well.

I welcome the offer, but I think this will be a case study of how not to do a promotion.

If you look at how the luxury house appliance brands (Bosch, etc) do promotions to avoid devaluing their brands, you see that they do large package deals where if you buy 3 or more items you receive a rebate. Just a thought. Certainly less open to gaming than this one.

I agree with everyone on this promotion as you would have no friends.  I in the process of buying 3000 worth of green so what is the cheapest power tool to qualify.  Does the syslite 2 led light meet the requirement.

Has Festool sent out any rebate cheques yet? Has anybody received one? I know the holidays are factoring into this as well as the postal service. Wondering if there is any posibility of receiving a cheque to reinvest before the pricing hike.

Yes, and welcome to the forum. [member=44502]anj[/member]

[member=59133]Ironmantrev[/member], I don't speak for Festool but in the past irs been 6-8 weeks for these types of promos.

Shane is correct. I'd expect 6-8 weeks.

Thanks Shane (and Tyler) for the Intel.

I submitted mine online. It said that it had been sent, but I have received no confirmation from Festool at all. That would have been great just so we know all was good. Guess I will have to have faith and some patience that the cheque will show up. Thanks again.

[member=59133]Ironmantrev[/member] When did you submit your form? I'll see if I can get an update for you tomorrow. Because this is ending during the holidays, it's a little funky.

Thursday Dec 17th.

Much appreciated if you could do that for me Tyler. Thank you very much. It was submitted on line with two attachments for my receipts and my friends.

Maybe in the future a confirmation email, could be sent out, like when we used to sign up for the monthly Festool contests, this way we all know it has been received and are in the que. It would not be good if anyone missed out on the promotion, especially with the price hike looming around the corner.

Thanks for listening.

Shane:
Following up on anj's question, I would imagine the basic Syslite qualifies as a power tool also, correct?

Second question: A few hints have been posted of a forthcoming price increase. While that's inevitable, do you expect this rumor to become a reality in the next few months, and if so, any ideas on the percentage?

Thank you.

a. Yes, the SysLite does not qualify for Festool A Friend. (I think. I'm still having "Christmas Break Brain". I'll double check tomorrow morning.)

b. There will be a Canadian price increase, but I haven't heard anything about one in the US.

[member=42263]c_dwyer[/member] the promotion was written to specify any tool $195 and up. So the now-discounted Syslite would not qualify.

In over 10 years as a Festool dealer and employee there's only one year I can remember when there wasn't a price increase. My anticipation would be that we will see one in a few months. But no official word, just speculation on my part.

It doesn't affect the end result, but the $195 minimum was actually not part of the final regulations. (It was included in an early non-final version.)

However (and maybe this doesn't need to be reiterated) the SysLite would still be a qualifying purchase for the referrer -- just not that referee.

Thanks for the reply. I was considering the syslite 2 kit for my "friend" who has been my best four legged friend for 14 years. The kit is 250.00 which will cover the minimum.

So what does the friend have to purchase in order to qualify for the rebate? Does is have to be a power tool? Can they buy a MFT table or other accessories? The rebate doesn't state anything about minimum purchase in order to qualify. I don't see where the $195 minimum is coming from.

1. The friend has until December 31, 2015 to make the purchase. The referrer (presumably you) has until January 31, 2016.
2. The friend's purchase has to include a tool (not necessarily a power tool). An MFT is considered a tool. It can't be an accessory or consumable.
3. The $195 minimum is officially not part of the rules. (Although I don't believe that there are any qualifying tools for less than $195.)

I just submitted my rebate online. It said it was submitted successfully, but a bunch of red warnings where next to the form fields which is kind of odd. I did fill them all out.

I have not gotten any kind of email confirmation yet. Is a confirmation email sent?
