Festool addiction is real

It depends on how your mid operates. My mind really likes everything on display, so where possible, I rack tools on pegboard so that I can scan the wall and quickly find the tool.

It was much easier when I had the frame shop. Once equipped, I no longer needed additional tools. But the home shop has me adding new tools or equipment regularly, so keeping organized is more challenging.

I particularly like manufactures’ supplied cases which I keep on a wall of shelves. Because each piece of equipment has a distinctive case, I can scan the shelves and quickly find what I need. I have only one Systainer, adding another would mess up my system.

I can totally get why people wouldn't want to use or store the systainers, and i have consolidated the contents of a few cases where it made sense for me, but for my work shop they are a means to help keep things tidy and protected, and so that I know where they live for when I need them.
I was reflecting on this the other day. The Systainers - especially with some tools, like the ETS 125, do have a lot of extra space in them. Perhaps not the most space economical storage if maximum number of tools is the goal. But I do like the ability to keep a number of accessories with each tool. And I like the way they look when stacked in a rack.

..
I'm not so sure that ABS is much of a fan either. Somebody would actually subject a Systainer to that?

If you had the SYS MAXIs they super strong and like made for public transport, including airport. I would still look to wrap them in some soft sheath but absolutely would fly with them.

That is actually one of the main reasons I moved stuff to the MAXIs. They are not only more space-efficient but are vastly superior when transporting stuff on an open trailer, by a moving company, etc. Basically any way where you do not have a control on how they will be treated.
