Festool and Flooring

Man i wish i could get my hands on one of those ras 180's that thing looks sweet. It sounds like it would help to remove stock easier then i could swith to the rotex 150. I just hate changing sand paper dimensions all the time.

It turns out that a fellow in another forum is finishing his new floors.  Here's his post about sanding the floor with a "EZ-Sand Orbital Sander" from Clarke American Sanders:http://www.woodworkslive.com/index.php/topic,6415.0.html.  It uses three 7-inch disks.  He's pretty happy with it.

Here's the link to the sander:http://www.americansanders.com/Prod...6&PHPSESSID=c8582bf2a8fa3ca385c8406463977f72.  I have no idea where you'd rent one of these puppies.

Dan.

I've seen these things work and i still swear by the hummel belt or drum sander. I've seen floors done with my machine and this three disc machine. I must say if you want a good floor with a great finish go with a drum or belt sander if you want a professional look. If your a stubborn dude that wants to do his own floors the three disc sander is the one to go with i guess. I know i would never use it. The three disc sander also claims you don't need to edge if you use this machine. I've seen floors done with it and there are still flaws along the edges. If you are refinishing this machine is definetly not the way to go in my eyes unless you want to waste time and burn through paper.

just  my opinion though. Looks like a handyman store special to me!

I agree with Trevor, don't wast time and money with the 3 or 4 disc machines.
