I had a great experience when buying through the classifieds here. The seller actually sent me the item, un-paid, allowed me to inspect, and then send payment. I'm not saying that this is a typical experience, but it worked out well for me.

Local woodworker FB groups.
I got contacted by a buyer for my TS 55EQ saw in about 15 mins of posting in a Arizona Woodworker Group.
Even Lumber yards have boards where people put stuff to sell.
