I have a CXS drill and love it and am considering the C series drill for heavier duty needs to replace another drill of mine that is slowly dying.  Does the C series beep when the drill is overloaded or needs more torque -- similar to the T series?  I couldn't find many videos of the C15 and was curious.  I have handled the C before at a dealer and like the feel of it, but never asked about that.  I figured I could go and play with it again at a local dealer, but it would be faster to ask the experts on these forums.  Thanks!

The functionality of the C 15 is virtually identical to the T 15.

I have played with the T drills and was not a fan I have the CXS and its great, for anything I need above that I use my C 15.
There are some on here that think I am wrong but its my choice to use C's over the T's. To me they are very comfortable to use over time periods.

I agree, Sal. My current favorite drills are the CXS and C 15. I have the T 18 also but rarely use it except for demo's.

Suus cuique.

I concur with Sal!  Welcome to the fog!  I have a current generation C 15 & a CXS. I love em both...they're my most used Festools!

I guess I should answer more directly...

The current C 12, and C 15 (plus the T 12, T 15, and T 18) all react the same way. They have brushless motors and electronic clutches that beep & stop when torque per setting is reached.

The motors all also beep and stop if they get hot or are mechanically or electrically overloaded.

Welcome Rob.  If you haven't already I'd suggest you go to a dealer and try out both the C and T series drills.  The full size C series drills have a very different feel and fit in the hand compared to the CXS.  There are more than a few people that love the CXS but not the C12/C15.

I held them both in my hand when I was at the dealer the last time picking up some supplies, I just didnt try them out.  Was going to stop by my local dealer this weekend and play with them some more.  Is it also safe to assume that the batteries from the C (or T) will work with the syslite also?  The manual seems to indicate as such.

Thanks again for the help.

Yeah, all of the Festool batteries from the last 6-7 years work with the Syslite, with the exception of the CXS batteries.

Cxs was my first festool drill and is still my go to machine. I own the previous gen t15 and love it as well, just the Cxs can handle the majority of screwing and drilling I do in a far more compact and light package. Really wanted a c15 but after handling them in the shop I preferred the t. Just personal choice. I'm sure you'll be happy with yours

I use both the csx and the T15 perfect combo and plenty of power. I think the handle is preference and fot me it feels more balanced with the t15
Thx
