Looking at drill options.  Wanted to ask a couple of questions.

1. Is the only difference between TSX and CSX the handle/holding option ?  I assume they use the same batteries ?

2. Will the right angle chuck fit both ?

3. I see that the kit in the subject line is discontinued.  Is there any other options similar to this?  I see this one..

Festool 203815 Centrotec Bit Set in Mini Systainer (LIMITED EDITION)

But it appears to be a sub-set of the subject line.  Not near as many goodies.

Thank you.

I just found a couple of answers via one of Peter Parfitt's videos.  Seems the CSX and TSX are essentially the same and do share batteries.  I guess questions #3 is the one I am still searching for answers on.

The kits were all one-time limited edition sets. The only thing you can do is asemble most of the kits with bits and pieces. You cannot buy the imperial brad points, unfortunately. Some of these end up on Ebay or Craigslist.

For the time being there’s only this one available in Europe for the moment - probably also in USA: 497628 SYS 1 CE Sort
Beware, the screwdriver handle and it’s socket is probably the same as in “exploded view photo”
Edit: The smaller kit you mention is also available!

Wow, now that is an accessory kit.  Looks like I would have to get it from the UK and I may have to give up a lung... [smile]

I kind of felt like that when pulling the trigger on this set. Fairly enough the drill bit set is extremely nice, and the countersink bits, short brad point set.. when adding all items as separate parts it’s better value in the kit. My set is almost unused, waiting for hrm.. finer work.. (my renovation are barely touching fine work, but I’ve used the countersink bit)
I recommend the new depth stop chuck though - if you are into repeating screwing and seek quick and quality results. You can fine tune the depth, soo much better than the drills clutch.

I own both the CSX and the TSX and The batteries are NOT the same!

The new 2.6 Ah versions are the same. The older 1.5 Ah version for the CXS was narrower with a long protrusion that fit inside the handle.

Thanks Cheese.  That confirms what I saw in Peter's video.

I found my unused sys1 set this weekend that I would part with. They were going for $500+ on eBay. I would take $300 local pickup.

Just to avoid confusion, everyone above is talking about the festool CXS and TXS.
There is no such thing as a csx or tsx drill, at least not from festool.

I got mine in on Friday.  Some reviews indicated missing and used pieces but mine was 99% perfect.  The only problem is that the countersink piece of the 4.5mm countersink bit is missing.  I wonder if Festool USA could help me with that.  Not having any luck finding anyone on Amazon to at least entertain the question.
