Over the past couple of weeks we have been getting more and more inquiries about Connect, including here on the FOG. Yes, we're doing Connect 2015! Here are the details, but please note that we will be in a different venue this year. We will be in the Dunkin Donuts Center (mmmm, donuts) which is adjacent to the Rhode Island Convention Center, which is where Connect has been in previous years. So, it will be just as convenient to get to.

You can register to attend online at http://www.festoolconnect.com.

For those of you who cannot attend, we plan to live stream the event online again this year. And, details will be coming soon about the video contest, so stay tuned.

Awesome, guess expecting an even bigger crowd... [thumbs up]

Possibly, hopefully.

But, we lost our previous space in the upper level of the RICC. They (JLC) are now using it to expand the exhibitors' area for the show.

See you there (again), Sal.

Shane,  Once again thanks for all you do on this.  It's a lot of work but a great event and much appreciated  .I'm signed up and will see you there!

My wife told me that I had to go this year.  After last year this will be so much Fantastic Festool Fun!  I just booked my trip!  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]  Missed it last year.  So looking forward to seeing the Festool guys and gals, my friends, and every Festooligan and Fellow Fogger who can make it!

I finally will be able to check this out this year!  However, the website doesn't seem to work?  I got an email with a link that doesn't work to register, and now clicking on www.festoolconnect.com above, it says "webpage not available".  Is this just a temporary thing, or did I miss out on registering or something?

Sorry, the website was offline. It's back up now. Apologies for that. I hadn't checked my email yet this morning to see the alert that the site was down.

I grew up in RI and would love to go (been over 20 yrs since the last time I was there) but not sure that it would be worth the expense that's involved (travel, hotel, convention cost).  I've never been to this but I've been to other types of trade shows that have "instructional" classes.  From my experience they turn out to be little more than product promotions.  Sure there's useful information but not anything more then I can get from youtube videos.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.  However, if I lived close enough I'd go in a heartbeat.

Plus there's the cost of "needing" to purchase those new Festool goodies.  That alone could double the cost of the trip!!!

Greg,

Of course, we'll be promoting products and showing new products that are on the horizon. But, when this event was created, the goal that myself and others had was to give us an opportunity to connect with our customers and spend time in a more intimate settings than the JLC show itself. Also, an opportunity for our customers to connect with each other. That's why we call it CONNECT.  [big grin]

If you can't make it, we do live stream the event online.

We provide a catered lunch, we have guest speakers every year like Norm, we have giveaways, the video contest winner is voted on my the crowd and online viewers, etc.

As usual I didn't communicate very clearly, sorry about that.  I was talking about the JLC part of it when I was wondering about wether it would be worth the trip.  I'm wanting to attend something like connect that would help me learn more about how to get the most out of my Festool tools.  I'm hoping for more classes to be offered here in NC.  I want to go to the essentials class and all the other ones offered by Festool.  Just seems like there are fewer classes offered here.  I know you're working on increasing the available classes which I'm looking forward to.  Asheville is only 2 hours away.

I'd go to connect by itself if it wasn't 800 miles away.  How about one in Charlotte, Greenville or Atlanta?

Sorry for the misunderstanding, Greg.

JLC is a trade show, and what you will see there is typical for a trade show. Exhibitors showing their wares, instructional clinics (paid and free), etc.

We've talked about doing a Connect event in another part of the country. It will likely be on the west coast or at our headquarters in Indy if we do another, but at this point it's just a discussion and nothing definite.

Gregory Paolini offers our classes in Asheville and is a great instructor. You can subscribe for notifications of his new Festool class listings at http://www.festooltraining.com/subscribe.

The venerable Dougie and myself will be there.  Looking forward to reconnecting with some of you we only get to see once a year.  Peter, awesome to see you'll be back in attendance.

Like Shane said, if you can't make it they do the live stream.  I watched it for the first time last year and really learned a lot.  It would be nice to be there in person, but the live stream is the next best thing.

This will be my first time/year going to Festool Connect. I'm not familiar with the area. Where do you guys stay up there.

Besides the Green Goodies, it's going to be nice to put faces to names.

Richard

I went the last 2 years, the first year I stayed at the Marriott which is right around the corner from the exhibit hall.  Last year I stayed at the Omni which is connected to the exhibit hall and was better.  I would choose one of those, however this year is at a different place.

I am still unsure if I will be able to make it this year.

The Hilton is right next door to the Dunkin Donuts Center which is right next door to the exhibition hall.  The prices last week were a little bit less than the Omni.
