FESTOOL CONTURO

Hi Jeff

Even glass will flow in time as has been proved by checking very old church windows.

The bottom line is that there is nothing wrong with the Conturo at all - even I managed to use it straight out of the box with no practice goes !

That's a pretty strong blanket statement that isn't really rooted in fact. It does seem like you've figured out the op's issue with the radiator heat ruining the banding. Still, just saying that nothing is wrong with a tool because it worked for you is pretty misleading and frustrating to people who are having problems. If you guys really want to change people's perceptions on the forum let's try to be a little realistically and not wear bright green tinted glasses either.

The point that I was making was that the Conturo is not, in my view, at fault in this case. It is also a whole lot better than the hand held edge banders that I used to use years ago. When I said that there was nothing wrong with the Conturo it is my view.

Anything that I write is my opinion - after all it cannot be anyone else's.

Hey Jeff

Not sure if you got your problem solved or not yet. I would first try having a thin cloth between a hand held iron and try to reheat the glue. Or, what about using the FastCap Speed tape to try and secure it.
I used to live in a house with the big radiators that I think your describing, and they get very hot, which I could easily understand it heating up the glue. Especially since it's on for an extended period of time. Not like the little amount of time it takes for the Conturo needs to initially heat the glue when applied.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions and I think your 100% correct. Just came off kind of rediculous in MY opinion. I just wish people would be more objective around here. No one needs to have an ulterior motive when posting (defending or bashing any one brand).

Hi
So to sum this up - If using MDF tape with the KA65 Vacuum the edge or clear with compressed air to remove the fine particles from the board.
Unfortunately nothing can be done at this stage to help the OP with the lifting as the radiator position is the main culprit on this occasion

Welcome the forum Jeff and good to talk the other day and any other queries you know how to get hold of me

Thanks for your advise, I will give it a go, sounds about my only option and hope of making a repair
