Hi there i was wondering if anyone has seen or is interested in a leather cushioned seat to attach to a systainer i have had look and can't see anything and was wondering if anyone would be interested if i made a few ?

Do you think the lid is strong enough to sit on? The cushion might need rigid backing to distribute the weight.

With a seat of some sort attached, it would be like a Sys-MFT.  [scratch chin]

I've sat on mine loads of times having lunch on site with no problems. I do chuck an off cut of sheet material on though. Always thought of making a padded top but it's one of those jobs you never get round to lol

Tanos has a commercial where some guy drives off to work with a van full of Systainers (it ~is~ a Tanos commercial, after all). There is however one particular systainer which he babies all day long, even taking it with him on the passenger seat. By lunch time - and you ~totally~ did not see this coming, of course  - it turns out this systainer was storing his lunch.

Anyway, all this to say that the guy sits down on a stack of systainers. So, if ~TANOS~ is promoting it…

I am not that light and often sit on a low stack of systainers - the only effect, without a cushion, is the handle imprint in one's lower end !

I sit on systainers all the time. If you made a cushion that would rest mainly on the 4 edges it could hold quite some weight.

I have never posted a link to a video like this before and I am doing it just to demonstrate that systainers also make a very good lectern !!

This is quite an old video.

As I read this topic, the following image came into my mind:

If I added a cushion to the SysMFT (perhaps held in place with -short- Parf Dogs) and then supported the inside with the right electronics, I could heat the cushion as well, and then I'd be talking real high-end luxury.  Add a heated seat back and then add shiatsu massage and I would never go back to work after lunch.
