Festool CXS and TXS - Video

Hi Everyone

I have had a lot of requests to do something about Festool's cordless drill drivers and have borrowed some kit from Festool UK in order to make 3 videos.

The first video will appear under this thread and covers the CXS and TXS. They are essentially the same machine but with a different body style. My old version CXS has given me excellent service over several years and I consider it to be my "Goto" drill driver. Here is the first video:


I will start new threads for the other two videos once the work is complete. There will be a video about the C18. This machine has had the most requests for more information than any other drill driver. The final video will be a round up of the main Festool cordless drill drivers and will include the BHC18 and PDC18.

Wonderful video Peter and great advice! I ended up selling my CXS and buying the TXS after several years of happy use. I like the open handed position better. Phenomenal tools, my only complaint or wish is that Festool make a Eccentric chuck for my TXS. Would be very helpful on really narrow openings when I forget to use my power of insight during an install [eek]

Yes, the eccentric chuck would be nice but perhaps tricky to do.

I have been playing with the C18 for a couple of weeks and am finishing off its video. That is the only tool that I have had with an eccentric chuck and I am really sold on the concept. I saw George von dem Bussche of Festool HQ demonstrate the machine with the eccentric chuck and I knew that it would be a "must have" accessory. I certainly wish I had one to fit my PDC 18.

The Bosch 12V GSR 15 FC kit comes with one, if you can stand not using a Festool driver for those odd occasions you really need one. It's cheap by Festool standards.

You know I love your vids and personality, Peter (and you're responsible for me buying that super awesome wera bit ratchet a few years back), but if you owned a T18 or C18, you'd begin telling your 12 v drill not to wait up late because you have a lot of work to do at the office, that she's just imagining things, and that that's just one of the co-workers in the background and not another drill/driver.
