Here is a little how to , on a fairly frequent question.  Due to a variety of reasons, damaged hose, desire to shorten hose,  worn connector, making an extension hose, etc, it is sometimes necessary to remove and replace the hose end connectors.

Both the tool end and vac ends work the same way.

1. Locate the two small locking tabs.

2. Use a screwdriver  to press them in and back. This will allow the retaining ring to slide back from the connector.

3. Pull the main connector body off.

4. The hose end piece is threaded onto the hose. Unscrew  (left hand thread).

5. Replace bad parts ,  cut hose to length (utility knife works well) you don't even need to be picky about the cut, just cut through around one of the spaces between  ribs  (threads).

6. Reassemble.

Thanks Seth. I plan on shortening the hose going to my Kapex soon. Your photos should help.

I saw this before I went to the job today and don't you know one of my hose ends came off while using it. Took me all of 60 seconds to put it back on, Thanks!

Thanks Seth,

I don't have any issues yet but, I come close to stepping on my hose line several times and wondered how I would repair the mess I "almost made".
