I bought the Festool Drill bit set part number 498981. I paid £45 for it. I have snapped a few small bits and rang Festool to see can I buy replacement ones as I could not find them on Google.

To my disbelief I was told I cannot buy individual drill bits for it.
£45 and no replacement drill bits. I find this a disgrace. I could have bought the same selection of bits for £20 but I said I'd pay for the Festool ones.

All in all its my first Festool purchase that I am disappointed in and would advise people not to bother buying this set and buy a cheaper alternative set that you can replacement drill bits for.

I know have to buy replacement bits that are not Festool ones completely going against buying the Festool set.

I am very very disappointed in this  [mad]

Yes, I'd avoid that set, too - I don't see the point in paying the extra for Festool branded bits if they're non-Centrotec. I don't know who makes the drill bits for Festool (I doubt very much they make their own!) but you can buy better quality bits for less pretty much anywhere. I don't know why Festool even bothered producing this set in the first place, tbh.

The NovaDrive drill bits are an older product.
Festool used to have the drills available separately, but not any more.
Maybe you can find some old stock, the range numbers are: 492541 (1 mm) to 492559 (10 mm).

Otherwise just replace the broken bits with any (better) drills from other brands and the box is complete again.

Ya if they don't sell replacement drill bits they should jus stop selling the full set. It's like buying the TS 55R and they don't sell blades for it. Completely stupid stuff

Holy smoke that's expensive  [scared]

£46 at one place I can find, about a quid more than the re-badged FT one you bought fella.

I manage with a Draper £15 set of bits that look about the same. When one dies, I replace it with Toolstation's finest rubbish. When I chuck a bit through metal, it KNOWS it was put through metal. Sometimes I even use lube. Insert crude joke.

If it's a matter of the drill needing sharpening, take it in to the shop and get it sharpened for a couple of quid. I got a nice shop near me that will do it. Imsusally wait till I need a couple of them sharpened but wouldn't hesitate to bring one in either.
