Festool kapex 120 help needed please

Hi have just puchased a Festool kapex 120 and it sounds a bit strange when it starts. There is a slight juddering noise when it starts and when it stops the same noise but not as loud is this normal?

Yes, perfectly normal. It's something to do with the electronic speed controller - nothing to worry about!

Thankyou very much jst bought it second hand and although i know the person i bought it off was still a bit natrally woried. i am very pleased with it, i think the lasers might need slightly adjusting though.  Also the person i bought it off had not filled in the warrenty form will i get the warenty on it if i do even though i dident actually purchase it myself.

ps now for a router and a sander im hooked i finaly have enough saved up to buy all the festool tools i want believe me it was a while im doing my apprenticeship but was of the veiw that i will be better getting the best tools to start as i will only want them in future

There are any number of folks here willing to troubleshoot it for you if you ship it to them. ;D

My left side laser needed adjusting when the saw came out of the box. It is pretty straitforward and can be done in 2 minutes (after reading the manual)
You need a 2.5 mm Allen wrench (same size if you want to remove the extra high fence), surprisingly it was not included.
