Was making some shooting benches for a friend, using 2x6x8 and 2x8x10 pressure treated, which is pretty heavy. First bench I made, I had a cut list that yielded little waste from those lengths. I did have some trouble trying to manipulate the boards on the UG wings on my kapex. After I built the first bench, I decided to go pick up a set of the crown stops, after seeing the following video:
Festool Crown stops for Kapex (new version)
Wow, these made a lot of difference. Before, I've worked wider stock on the saw and always wished I had more stability. These solve the problem. An added benefit is that when I fold up the legs and put the wings away, the crown stops lock the legs in place. They also include the template for making your own center section for when you do crown, so you don't have to buy the Festool one if you don't want to (or make a replacement when you cut one up). Expensive at $100, but saved me a lot of struggling when I made the second bench. One more to go...
