Hi All

First time post but long time festool user. Apologies if this is in the wrong place.

Just bought the extension sides for my kapex 120. This is probably the most stupid question in the world but I’m semi intelligent (!) and this is driving me insane. I don’t understand the tape measure on the extension tables. The smallest number is 40cm...I assumed this would be the distance from the blade to that point. But it’s way off that.

So if I’m trying to cut a piece to 50cm I would assume I would put the stop block at 50cm on the scale on the extension tables. But it gives me a random length of 59 or something??!

Am I being incredibly stupid?

Any help much appreciated.

Tom

Welcome to the forum.

Assuming that you have the extensions fitted correctly I would not expect to have an error of 9 cm.

Under the extensions there are 4 bolts that hold the steel plate to the aluminium extrusion. If you loosen the bolts you can slide the extrusion backwards and fowards to calibrate the scale to your actual cut but I don't think that you can move it 9 cm.

That seems odd, mine starts at 28.4.

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Sounds like you may have a defective rule?  Try giving Festool a call about that.

28.4 on mine

I think the person who installed your tape either needs new glasses or packed a little pick  me up flask with their lunch.
