Festool Kapex vs Table Saw Miter Gauge

Well, this is more of a question I guess.  First let me explain...

I have a Festool Kapex and a Powermatic PM2000 table saw.  As most people know, table saws, for the most part, come with junk miter gauges.  There are after market miter gauges available such as from Incra.

So, my question is.  Is there a reason why one would use a high quality after market miter gauge over a Festool Kapex (other than cutting molding)?  Should you have both?

I'm also interested in this! I recently completed a project which required very accurate bevel cuts, and my Makita SCMS was definitely not up to the challenge, so I had to do it painstakingly with a TS55. I think my next purchase will be a table saw, assuming that it would be at least as accurate and more versatile than a Kapex. Is that true?

I have a kapex and love it, but if u want dead on accuracy a well tuned tablesaw with accurate mitre gauge is hard to beat! It has less moving parts there for should be more accurate. This is just my opinion.

I have a Sawstop Industrial table saw and a Kapex. I have two aftermarket miter gauges and an Incra 5000 miter sled. I also have a bunch of home made jigs for the table saw and a few for the Kapex. The Incra stuff is as precise as I need even for the finest detail work.

I believe the table saw, with a high quality miter gauge and well built jigs, is better and safer than the Kapex for many cuts. Likewise, the Kapex does cuts easily that would be highly difficult on any table saw.

You have bought some great tools. I suggest you compliment them with a high quality miter.

You should also consider a great square like Woodpecker makes as well as their table saw alignment tool.

I have a Hammer Slider as well as a Kapex.  The Hammer cross cut capabilities are great on shorter pieces are great but it's tough on longer boards.  The Kapex with the wings solved that problem for me.  Both are very accurate and the slider is better on 8/4 fairly wide boards.  That 4hp is hard to beat.

I have a Kapex as well as an Incra crosscut sled for my Delta combo.  For short pieces, I use the Incra- it is just safer.  The Kapex is much easier to use for anything but the short pieces- especially for compound mitres.  You would need a different sled base for every bevel angle on the Incra sled.
