Just wondered if anyone could recommend a good store to go and browse Festool or Lie Nielsen kit in the Bay area as I am visiting the area in a few weeks time
thanks

Thanks all of you the website looks awesome. I see what you mean about liking chisels - there is a set of dovetail chisels for over $2000! I also found Woodcraft in Dublin, CA - does anyone know what that is like?
Thanks again

Depends what part of the bay area you are visiting. There is a Rockler store in Pleasant Hill. Woodcraft in a few places. I agree with the above post though, if you are traveling, the Japan woodworker store is worth the visit>
Our local woodcraft seems to be only displaying / carrying the leigh super 18 or 24 jig on my visit there a few days ago. I wanted to check out a D4 to see how it was different from a D3 but none was to be seen. The also had one or two of the leigh bench clamps in stock...has anyone tried these with the holes in the MFT/3 tabletop? Looks like it might work nice with it and it is the same clamp used with the leigh FMT jig.
Too much of "we can order it..." from too many suppliers these days. Heck I can get it from anywhere in 2-3 days too... and save some loot to boot...
Getting to the Japan Woodworker can be a bit of tricky. At least it is for a small town Canadian like myself where highways max out with two lanes.
Expect to spend at least two hours there oodling over the goods. Bring lots of money as well cause I guarantee you won't leave empty handed!!!
Their is also a really good Japanese tool store in Berkely just down the road as well. Up the street from the REI store..... can't remember the name and hopefully someone else will chime in.
