Hello Festoolfriends,

I have already for a long time it idea to do something with the Festool basic CMS system
(Basic Module System) This system has several modules , e.g a sawing moduleand a router module.
This is system is very nice and it is easy to transport, but if it stands in your shop it uses a
lot off space, not in square inch but in height.
It shall by nice when you can do some more with the space under the system.
If you look at the plane for a Mobile Sawing & Routing Center (from woodstore.net) you no what I mean.
My idea is, to build the Festool system in a Mobile Sawing & Routing Center, you can place
the sawing module in the system and the router module in the Mobile Sawing & Routing Center.
And the rest off the space can be used for cases and cabinets.

Now I now that the Festool CMS is not for sell in the US but that is a matter off time I think (and hope
for you)
But maybe there is somebody from the other countries where the CMS is sold, who has the same
idea or maybe there is somebody who already make something or maybe I mis something on this website
I?m very curries or there more people with the Festool Mobile woodworking Center.

It sounds like you want to make a unit more for a shop environment than what the CMS is designed for (portability).

I hear you on that, but I have not seen much on a Festool Mobile woodworking Center on the FOG forum.

Festool is really about guys going to the site and I always thought they could make some money by catering to the shop guys.

If I see something like that I will post it.

Schummie,

In your shopmade combination saw/router table and cabinet, what is the section that hangs below the rest of the bottom panel, the section that is seen between the casters?

I have this set up in my shop.  Until I get something with a little more juice my Ridgid 3650 TS is mounted on this station.  I have a Bench Dog router table extension on the left side and the other router table on the right.  I have a rather large fold down outfeed table attached as well.  The bottom part that you're seeing is the brace for the base.  The plans call for 1X4's but I used 2X4's instead.  This setup has worked well for me since I have to move everything to the side at the end of the day.  I can post pics if anyone's interested.

Is it made like a torsion box? Does it prevent you from getting in close becasue your toes can not go under?

It is a nice set up. Hey that little Ridgid is a nice table saw, I used it for several years on site jobs. It has a neat way for the table to expand.

Nick sort of nailed it. I use the CMS on site mostly. If I were going to do all the work in my shop I'd get a big saw and a standard router in the wing. The whole point is I can fold up the legs and stack everything on a shelf, or put it in the back of my (small) car. I don't have to have a big table surface.

Here is what I did for my cms modules:-
