Festool needs a clamp like this

I found another video on youtube that shows the squaring attachment in a bit more detail Squaring up a panel

I still can't see the actual clamping , the black part seems to be on the same side of the square (the top of the sheet), but Dino says so in his video, it is the downward pressure of the handle that acts like a clamp. But like you said, it doesn't really matter, it's a nice system that seems to work.

I do like it!  His idea could easily be adapted to the festool guide rail couldnt it?!?!?!

I don't think it's a clamp. It's more like an handle to put pressure against the edge of the sheet so that it does not move while you cut.
Me?  I wouldn't use it.

WOW, I see no reason not to use it and just think it is awesome.

I cross cut and then 99% of the time I need to go to the long edge as the next cut and rip that, so for me it would be ideal. It takes at least 5 minutes for me to switch using the Festool set up and make sure everything is lined up(back and forth etc), with this maybe 15 seconds.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

The guide rail is a heaver construction then the Festool guide rail. Plus the squaring device attached to two channels under the guid rail. The festool guide rail only has one channel. That said it would be real nice is someone made somthing like that that did attach to a Festool guide rail.

I'll change it to:

Festool needs a Quick Squaring device like this.  :)

I hate to say it, but I agree with Nick.  [big grin]

Simple and useful.

Didn't Shane just start a thread asking for suggestions a week or two ago?
