Hi All,
I have a Festool Of 1400 EQ Router. Can this mount to the underside of an after market table or does it have to be used with one of the Festool CMS router tables?  They are a big pricey. If someone was able to get this to mount to an after market table, can you list the table you're using?

Thanks!
Dave

Theoretically you can drill the holes in any mounting plate, or have them predrilled by whichever company you're working with.  The problem is that it will not fit many (any?) of the router lifts on the market, so you would not have above the table adjustment.

For table routing, I have a dedicated Triton router, which has built-in above the table adjustment and bit changes, and thus no need for a lift.  It's reasonably priced and incredibly powerful (3.25HP).

The dedicated Triton is the answer. Lots of router lifts will work with it. If you really want to use your 1400 the only real option is one of the Festool tables. After analyzing every option for a router table and router I bought the VL model and am more than happy with it. I can use any of my Festool routers with and it just works.

A Porter Cable motor-only unit is an excellent product that fits most lifts and is a lot less costly than a 1400. Putting a 1400 in a router table, in my opinion, is an expensive over kill.

It's easy enough to make something that will work perfectly well, but it depends on how much use you're intending on giving it.

I mounted an OF1010 under a small sheet of MDF using the rods/bars running through the base as a mount, I know lots of other people on here have done something similar too as a simple solution.

Perhaps worth a thought anyway.

I put a 2000 in a woodpecker table,it is hard to push up on the plunge and all the way down, provides barely enough room to change bits.you also have to secure the plate to the table or when you try to up plunge, the whole plate rises

I have an older Triton 3 1/4 hp in a table  and made a small table for my 1400, also have a Ridged 2 1/4 in a bench top. Love the Triton,  hate the Ridged, and will be getting rid of it.  Use the 1400 for site work when I need to make moldings. I agree that the CMS is pricey, but will be getting one in the future.  Any router can be table mounted,  but some are better suited for the task.
