Festool OF 2200 Video's on Cherry during Festool Fantasy Camp

These video's were taken at the Henderson Nevada training facility during Festool Fantasy Camp. The wood is cherry which tends to burn when cut and the router bit used was probably about 3" diameter and had seen quite a bit of work before this video.

Not the Best video's I have ever shot but you get the point! ;D

The second video was Moi.

I was terrified. Thats right, big ol hard arse me was ascared.

Despite my hesitations and that chip flying out, that cut Finished smooth.

That big solid surface bit was used on both the cherry and SS.

It was at this very moment that the skepticism meter swung the other way,

and I started thinking.

I don't think "impressed" covers it enough.

  I starting agree with Per, my "skepticism" meter is swinging too, this is a incredible router guys. Take a close look at the videos, check out the dust collection, especially in the last two vids. Without the vac hose attached Steve only cut into the SS material the depth of the bit and no more, what you can't see in the video is how much of the dust was on the floor too. Now look at the second again, the 2200 collected almost all of the chips, I'd guess around 95% or more!

I must say the tool I have been anticipating the most was the KAPEX followed by the MFK 700 and the OF 2200 seemed useless to me.

After seeing them in action I was most impressed by the OF2200 followed by the KAPEX and then the MFK 700. The 2200 Watt motor in the OF2200 meant nothing to me in my rankings but the new dust collection shroud, 2mm final pass turret stop and the 30 degree offset of the handles and the new base for guide rail work were what sold me and I almost forgot about the micro adjustablity!!

Don't get me wrong the MFK 700 and KAPEX were still very impressive and did excellent work it is just that the OF2200 caught me by surprise. My first question to Festool was "wil it fit in the CMS?" and they said yes. SOLD!
