Looking for advice from Festool users. Thinking of buying a power pack for husband. He uses all Festool tools, hobby builder, not FT job.

Are there any issues with it and do I need to buy anything to go with it? Also, will it suffer from not being used regularly?

Thanks for advice
:)

Yup, that's the one I was thinking of...the 205722. It's no longer on the Festool UK website, although it still appears on the German & Netherlands websites.

As I mentioned, it was never available in the US so maybe there are some foreign FOG members that can weigh in on any issues they've had with the Sys Power Station. 🤷‍♂️

Availability aside I'd question how much practical use he'd get out of what is essenitally a glorified power bank considering he is a hobby builder per your post (just trying to understand the reasoning here). Taking into account that the Sys Power Station costs a whopping 2500€ and is mostly geared towards builders who often work in houses or on sites that don't have power yet (or where every trade fights over a few available outlets) it seems an odd fit. For that kind of money you could easily ramp up the electrical system in the garage (if that's the bottleneck) or buy a dozen tools at that price point that would likely add more towards his capability and productivity.

So probably no real use case = waste of money to buy that battery.

It being a Lithium battery, it will degrade due to three factors; use, temperature and time with the state of charge % being a variable in the rate of degradation. About 40% being the best for storing it long term. Time remains, temperature can be controlled and state of charge could also be kept within bounds. But honestly; for hobby use I don't see a use case that justifies spending that kind of money on a battery. Unless your wallet is really really fat, but then you wouldn't even be asking ;)

No; NL and DE have the 205721 ; the version with Schuko. Since the Brits don't use Schuko, that one was never listed on the Festool UK website. And since we don't use the feet pinching UK plugs in NL and DE, the 205722 was also never listed on the NL and DE website.
