Festool Recon Topic (compiled)

I’ve been looking to pickup the Vac-Sys and was going to get the 1 head unit, so I figured this 2 head unit for slightly more but only a 1 year vs 3 year warranty was worth it.

Order placed....Thanks!

Did anyone get an email?  I did not.
No I didn’t either Joe even though I’ve received them for the last 2-3 years.

Maybe there’s a new sign-up that’s needed.

I assumed it was no longer being used, since I no longer get email updates. What is going on with this?

I wonder if there's not much inventory to go around so they're just quietly (not sending emails) posting items for sale that people may randomly stumble upon.

They’ve only recently been putting items up in the last week with a few one offs a few weeks before that.

I ordered the dust extractor from Festool Recon and needed to contact them about a missing item.  I am not tech savoy-I would rather hit something with a hammer than push a button.  I am not able to leave a comment, I keep getting this message:

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get around this?
By the way, just received my 12 lb sledge from Acme tool today so I have the hammer portion covered, just not good at the button pushing.

You probably don’t want to hear this, but the best thing to do is call the phone number. I had to contact them about a missing filter bag for a CT-Sys I bought from the Recon site and a 5 min phone call got me a full box of new bags at my door in 2 days.

IHTH

Anyone watch the last Festool Live about sys gen 3? If I'm not mistaken Festool Recon was mentioned. Possibly making a return? I don't think I have received any of the emails since before 2020. I think I may need to resubscribe or something. Maybe they have mentioned more about offering tools on recon site again. The site shows a ©2021 date on the bottom which would indicate it has at least been updated/renewed for 2021.

I ended up bookmarking the Recon site b/c the emails aren't coming through.  They've been doing a lot more tools the past few weeks - last week they had the Conturo, Domino, OF1400, Kapex and a few sanders IIRC so it's back up and running.

My biggest complaint with not receiving the emails is many times products come and go very quickly. Sometimes within minutes or even gone before you can load the website.

They've been selling items since November 2020 ... VAC Sys, Drywall Sander, Router Table, Dust Extractor, Orbital Finish Sander, Vecturo, Kapex 120, OF 2200, Rotex, Centuro, Domino DF 500, Jigsaw, Linear Detail Sander, OF 1400, CT Midi, Cordless Drills, SysRock Radio, Air Sander, Tracksaw, OF 1010, MFT/3 and many combos just to name a few! LOL

But did you get emails?

No - it appears that emails are no longer going out. To be honest that doesn't change much because the emails could not keep up with the pace of the changes - as items often are replaced and then sold faster than emails could be sent, read, and responded to. Would be helpful if email was sent occasionally to tell those who have signed up when they are about to take a break from posting tools, and when they are resuming sales.

With just a "little" communication from Festool USA about the process most users would be much more understanding, and happier with the service.

Amen...to all you've said.  [big grin]

Last week I went to the Festool Recon site and added my email to the list...it came back and said that I was already on their email list.

So, a week later and still no emails, obviously Festool doesn't want to email folks for one reason or another. The Kapex was for sale yesterday around 3:00 PM and I noticed it's still for sale today.  [eek]  With the older Festoolrecon methods that/those Kapex's wouldn't last for longer than 15 minutes.

They’re definitely not hurting for sales without emails ... they’ve sold 12 Kapex since 3pm yesterday and all sorts of other items continually moving through at a quick pace...

Out of curiosity, how can you tell that they sold 12 Kapex saws?

They certainly have moved a lot of items in the last couple of weeks through Recon.  Earlier this week in 30 minutes I saw five or six different items come up and then disappear, so I am guessing some were 1 or 2 items and sold out quickly. Then they seem to get stuck on an item, like this Kapex.

My guess is the next item is a 36AC dust extractor and 225 Planex combo.

My issue re: the emails. If I don't get them I can't go into my email history and see what's come up and for what price. If you have the e-mail with the link you can click on it long after it's sold to see what they sold it for on the Recon site. This helps me decide if I want to buy new or wait for it to come to Recon again.
