Festool Recon Topic (compiled)

I got really lucky.  Been checking the site for about 2 weeks hoping for DF 500 to pop up.  I refreshed my phone just as the sale opened yesterday morning.  Got the DF 500 Q, RO 125 FEQ and TS 55 REQ-F-Plus.  Hopefully it all shows up...

What time does the site refresh for you?  I was gone most of yesterday, at around 4 PM EST I checked and for some reason was able to get on and buy a 1010 router.  I then turned right around to try to buy something else but it never worked again.  What time of day does it go up and for how long?  I clicked on a number of items and nothing was available so it is like it is switched on then off and you have to hit those windows.

I think you get one shot at it guys...you need to decide on the most important thing you want, find the item, make sure it has the correct part number, pull the pin on that item and then go back a 2nd or 3rd time for other items. If you start putting things in your cart you may miss the sale.

The early morning session lasted about 10-11 minutes, while the afternoon session lasted 14-15 minutes.

So, assuming there are only 95 items for sale and no duplicate items, for a 11 minute session, a tool is being sold every 7 seconds.

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] Did you pick up a 2200? Are you throwing it in the CMS or keeping it out?

I'm putting it in the CMS Dyna and am ordering a Woodpeckers micro-adjust to also add to the CMS.  [smile]  Should be fun...

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] I took mine out of the CMS and put the 1400 in and sold my Woodpeckers micro adjust  [big grin]

Were there some issues with the combo? I have the 1400 in the CMS now.

And now everything is gone at 10:15am EST.

I tried clicking into tools and every time it would display the sold out message. It looked like Festool was testing the new site design and not really offering anything for sale yet.

No, I was able to get in and see it not sold out but there wasn’t anything I was interested in buying.

I bought a CXS and got a confirmation email.

For these battery tools, any chance they swap out batteries with fresh?

It was around 10:07 AM EST. Everything was still listed, but impossible to purchase. I also checked the site at 9:55 AM EST and nothing was listed there. Either everything was wiped out in a matter of a few minutes or it was a test.

Just gets frustrating, plenty of things I would buy, then it's "imperial". back to the same issue why Festool hasn't got my money for these new.  General hope with recon is seeing Metric stuff, but at these point, you know most anything metric that shows up is not going to be something that was instantly returned.

I must have looked at it at just the right time this morning.  Now I see it's back to the test pattern.  Wonder if they just get overwhelmed now.  Guess Festool won't be setting up as a Vaccination center.

The last three days have been so surreal on the recon site. I've checked morning, afternoon, and evening for weeks seeing the odd deal here and there but never seeing a DF 500 which is what I was after. Checking Sunday I saw the first (that I know of) of the "limited time extended offering" sale and was able to order my DF 500. Luckily something had gone off in the back of my head telling me to checkout with the DF 500 as soon as possible. Once I had that order confirmed I went back to look around some more but by the time I found something else I wanted the sale was gone.
The last two days I've happened to check while the site was back up and have now ordered a Kapex, trim router and sander. Each time the site seemed to go down right after submitting my order. I was terrified this may be a mistake and I'd get an order cancellation email with an explanation anytime now - I'm delighted that this morning I in fact received a shipping confirmation for my DF 500 - the only thing I really cared about getting.
I'm going to keep an eye on things the next few days and maybe pickup a drill/driver or a jigsaw, but for those wondering, this does indeed seem to be legit.

[member=66216]GoingMyWay[/member] Thanks. Can't beat those TID18 and T18 Easy combos for stocking up on the new 4.0 batteries.

No problem!  I wasn't sure if people might get annoyed with my posts just saying when I noticed tools were live and then pulled (plus people's wallets might be lighter as a result).

I figured at the very least it might be useful to have some start/stop times that could be used as data points.

...actually see the items? I've never received any sort of notification from Festool for much of anything even after signing up.

Every time I visit the page I see "Wow, the recon offering went fast!!!"

The only time I ever saw something different was when someone shared the link and I clicked on that from here.

Just wondering....

Seen the items and have ordered two days. You need to know what you are looking for and order fast!

I saw 8 pages of tools. Did you see the same thing? All taken in less than 7 minutes?!  [eek]
Yup...one item sold every 7 seconds.  [eek]
If not a glitch, upon seeing this a retailer with any business sense would simply re-adjust the prices upward.
