Some people have set up browser plug-ins that notify of a change on a website, some people have set up other mechanisms.  I usually just check this thread daily and/or surf to the Recon site every morning to see what's up.  I think you can subscribe/watch individual threads through the forum settings, which would theoretically ping you when someone posts in this thread.

I also would like to set up plug in /extension for Google Chrome for Festool recon page , but could not figure out yet, any suggestions?

I'm using one called Check for Change. 

Set some text you want it to monitor (I use the SKU), and it will play a sound when the text changes, and bring that page to the front.

Missed all the sanders this morning though, but that's because I was in the shower.

Unless you setup a monitoring service, you are going to miss a lot of things that pop up very briefly on the recon site. I have setup a script on one of my linux boxes to monitor the site, send me emails and log tools as they come and go. Attached below are this month's sales to date. Easy to see that popular items are usually only up a couple of minutes a week, so the odds of catching one with the random check is going to be pretty small (e.g. Domino 700 has been for sale twice so far in March, first time for 9 minutes, then earlier today for 7 minutes).

I don't know if it's better to know you completely missed one or not.  I had no idea the routers had come up.  That's why it's nice to see a list of what is coming up.  I have been assuming folks are posting what comes up.  But makes sense some things come thru fast that most don't notice.

I haven't figured out when they start in the morning.  Sounds like they put some of the more appealing stuff up early in the morning and leave jig saws, CT48s, and planex's for the afternoons.

Paying attention in programming would have done me no good.  I learned Cobol and Fortran, back when you wrote a program on 80 column punch cards  and waited hours to have your cards ran on the mainframe.  BASIC came much later.

An Uncle of mine has horror stories about dropping boxes of those cards.

My first computer was a Commodore 64. And programming has never been my forte.

My script checks once a minute for updates, so if things are up for less then a minute, it can definitely be missed. At 7:12:34 AM today the OF1010 was for sale, by 7:13:34 the OF 2200 was for sale and by 7:14:36 the MKF 700 was up. Clearly things went pretty quickly there for a bit. Not too surprised I missed something.

Once things go up for sale in the morning, if you checkhttps://www.festoolrecon.com/collections/oneanddone you will see the items that will be up for sale that day and the order in which they will be available.

PM me an email and I will send it along. Unless you are pretty comfortable with unix command line/bash scripting, probably going to be problematic making it work for you. It is something I just hacked together in like 20 minutes, so will definitely need to be tuned to your environment.

The Planex and CT 36 were also up most of yesterday.

Any time I see a Planex or Planex/CT combo, the first thought in my mind is "well, looks like they're out of tools again."

I also can't wrap my head around free shipping on that combo at a 40% discount from retail.  Granted, it's probably 40% because of the new model, but still...

My guess is Planex's are probably the most returned tool.  People buy one to do their house, return it in 30 days.  Thus why there are always Planex on recon and always at a good discount.

The CT36 and CT48 have a place I'm sure, but a CT48 is big and now with cyclones, I would think even in shops where the 48 might have made sense in the past, now it doesn't so much.  A CT26 with cyclone is only 1" taller than a CT48 by itself.  Of course neither is below 36"/900mm bench height.  In a non-cyclone world, I guess in a shop the CT48 makes some sense. A bag hold almost twice that of a 26, but only cost 20% more.  So there would be some value.

So you have some big vacs that probably most folks don't want now, and a tool that gets constantly returned.  I would think festool does all they can to just stop them from piling up on them.  Thus the "3 CT48 combo kit" comment.

Nobody wants the planex and CT36AC . It's been sitting there. May be the strategy should be that the price goes down 5% each day it sits there?
