Gosh darn it! Thanks for the info.

Plugged it in to test it and the electronics are all messed up. It spools up to speed then dies and spins at an extremely low rpm that can’t be fixed with the speed control. First time I’ve had an issue with a recon tool.
That and it’s in a systainer 3 which I specifically tried to avoid. There were two different models of this sander last week- one had a picture of a systainer 3 and was $210, the other just a picture of the sander for $202, which I presumed was cheaper because it came in a t loc. Not sure what the difference was then
That’s what I think too. Even if you wake up supper early, they might just post a single unpopular tool for the day and that’s all.Chainring said:I get Festool US not wanting to promote recon sales outside of the US, but timing the sales to where anyone on the west coast would have to be up insanely early is not cool at all.

So how/what did festool do before the recon site? Trash them? What do they do outside of the US?
josiahjlee said:Looks like they heard the “west coast whining” [big grin] yesterday. A fair number of tools on the queue for today but they didn’t start at their usual 6 or 7 am eastern/central time. Festool is watching!

In my head, I imagine it to be like all of the worst parts of Black Friday Doorbusters that you've seen on the news, occasionally without more than one or two tools total to sell per dealer. But that's my mental version based on things I've read;
